According to the “United Nations World Water Development Report of 2016”*, between 2011 and 2050, the world population is expected to increase by 33% to 9.3 billion people and the food demand will rise by 60% in the same period. An estimated 663 million people lack ready access to improved sources of drinking water while a third of the world’s population – some 2.4 billion – do not use improved sanitation facilities.

Hence, ensuring the supply of water to the world population is a big challenge. Still, there are many opportunities amid finding solutions to irrigation and treatment, decentralising storage of water and cutting leakages.

Our Water Zone at Aid&Trade London 2018 will showcase the most vital sanitation and purification techniques.
